Janet, Kian and I made our yearly Christmas Eve visit to Grandma Rosann’s house to spend time with Janet’s half of the family. It was nice to see Kian interacting with kids close to his own age. Lots of noisy toys!

The first Christmas in a long time where the entire family was together, in one city, with no rush to get to the airport the day after - Janet, Kian, and I all hung out Christmas day, enjoying gifts and Christmas cookies with my half of the family.

Kian, nearly two years old, just barely understood the concept of unwrapping gifts. His first gift was a really obnoxious car that makes a ton of noise while scooting around the room. Once he got that, all other gifts were considered “non-essential” in his eyes. You know what they say about boys and their toys…

Christmas 2008
Wednesday, December 31st, 2008Busy month at home
Monday, December 22nd, 2008Since being layed-off from work, I’ve been keeping busy writing articles for Macworld and my site, The Graphic Mac. I’ve also kept busy with little side projects like helping Rosann get her Web site up and running at Art of Dolls, and baby-proofing the remaining cabinets in the house, thus making every task in the kitchen more difficult.

With Christmas approaching in a few days, we still haven’t finished shopping - though I’m optimistic that at least a gas station might be open Christmas morning for those last-minute gifts for the most important people in our life, because nothing’s too good for them!
Big, bald, brown-eyed boy
Friday, October 24th, 2008Kian’s latest haircut really shows off his large brown eyes. The haircut is growing on us, not so much on him though.

Nascar edumacation
Saturday, October 11th, 2008I honestly couldn’t believe I saw this sign a few streets away from our house.
For grins, I took a drive by the house. As I suspected, the family was sitting out front, with their mullet haircuts and beer in hand, enjoying reruns of old Nascar races. The sale was a real crowd-pleaser, featuring many useless items in various degrees of delapitation.

Dad-O-Lounger
Friday, October 10th, 2008Kian and I watching TV, he decided that the Dad-O-Lounger was more comfortable than the couch!

More wedding pics coming soon
Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008Kelley finally received her wedding photos, which turned out awesome. So I’ll be posting a few of them soon.

Wake me when we get there…

Bye-bye “baby” sister, Kelley got hitched
Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008Janet, Kian and I just returned from Portland and Kelley’s wedding. A wonderful evening and Kelley looked fantastic. Hopefully, we’ll have more photos to look at soon, but until then, here’s a teaser.

Kian playing soccer at the park
Wednesday, June 11th, 2008
I took Kian to the park recently to kill some time with a soccer ball. Surprisingly, he picked it up fairly quickly for only being around 15 months old…

Kian’s nightly ritual
Saturday, May 10th, 2008Most every night Kian gets a bath, or a good soaking in the kitchen sink. The latest interest when in the sink is making sure he has a clean tongue… he feels it’s very important.

After his bath, we all sit in the living room and decide what to watch before bed. Should it be Classical Baby? Something on the Noggin network?

Once the decision is made, Kian settles in. As you can see, Daddy has already been training him to use his finger to push the buttons on the remote. He’ll be a couch sleeper in no-time.
