My wife and I have been remodeling the house for the last few months, beginning with new flooring. Replacing the flooring required us to pack up the house as though we were moving—which forces you to evaluate your needs (and the amount of stuff you’ve collected).
The first thing I evaluated was the room-filling desk I had for the last 12 years. In my quest to replace the 8-drawer, 2-cabinet and 6-shelf desk I had, I came across this gem. The Cemtrex SmartDesk includes a computer, 3 touchscreen displays, built-in keyboard & trackpad, built-in charging station for your smartphone, built-in document scanner, and more. The adjustable height sit/stand desk also supports touchscreen and touchless gestures. Smart desk, indeed.
At $6,300 for a fully decked-out Cemtrex SmartDesk, it’s likely out-of-read for all but the most high-end buyer. Definitely not in my price range. But it got me thinking. There are no drawers on this desk. So I started looking through all the things in my desk drawers and cabinets. What I found was outrageous and unnecessary. Needless to say, I got rid of a lot of things I just don’t need or use (I’m still getting rid of stuff).
I didn’t buy the $6,300 smart desk, opting instead for a $200 OfficeMax glass-top L-shaped desk seen above. It features no drawers and limited desktop space – both will force me to not collect things I don’t need/use.
Though my desk is a lot more reasonable for the vast majority of the people in the world, the Cemtrex is pretty cool and worth watching the numerous videos on the site.
